Cookie Policy
Last updated:
This Cookie Policy explains how the website ohiolmsc.org, operated under the brand Cannes Yachts For Rent, uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage and session storage. It applies to anyone browsing our yacht charter pages, requesting a quote, or using the WhatsApp buttons on this site.
Storage used on this site
- Cookie notice preference (local storage)
- Remembers that you closed the cookie notice banner, so it is not shown again on the same browser. Kept until you clear your browser storage.
- Selected yacht (session storage)
- Remembers which yacht you clicked on so the enquiry form can be prefilled with it. Deleted automatically when you close the tab or send the form.
- Visit measurement identifiers (local storage, own domain)
- Random visitor and session identifiers used only by our own first-party visit counter. Expire 30 days after your last visit; can be cleared at any time in your browser.
- Google Fonts (third-party request)
- Loads the typefaces used on this site; Google receives your IP address as part of this request. No cookie is set for us.
- intl-tel-input via jsDelivr CDN (third-party request)
- Loads the phone-number input field used in our enquiry form; the CDN provider receives your IP address as part of this request. No cookie is set for us.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website can place on a visitor's device to recognise the browser on later visits. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way: they let a website save small pieces of information directly in the browser, either for a limited time (local storage) or only until the browser tab is closed (session storage). These technologies can be used for purely technical purposes, such as remembering a preference, or to measure and profile browsing behaviour across sites.
2. No cookies set by us, no third-party trackers
This website does not set any cookies of its own, and we have not installed any third-party analytics, advertising or social-media trackers. We measure traffic through a script that we serve ourselves from our own domain, not through a service operated by a third party.
This first-party visit measurement records pages viewed, time spent on a page, the referring website, campaign parameters carried in the link such as UTM or ad click identifiers, device type, browser, operating system, screen size, browser language, and the visitor's country as derived from the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored. When a visitor sends an enquiry or taps a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to the same visit so that we know which channel brought the enquiry.
To carry out this measurement, the script writes random visitor and session identifiers to local storage on our own domain. These identifiers expire 30 days after the last visit and never contain your name, email address or any other contact detail.
3. Local storage and session storage on this site
Beyond the visit-measurement identifiers described above, the site uses two further browser storage entries, both strictly technical:
- a local-storage entry that remembers that you closed the cookie notice, so the banner does not reappear on the same browser;
- a session-storage entry that remembers which yacht you clicked on, so that the enquiry form can be prefilled with the correct yacht; this entry is deleted automatically when the browser tab is closed or when the form is sent.
Neither entry identifies you personally, and neither is shared with any third party.
4. Third-party requests
A small number of resources are loaded directly from third-party servers so that certain parts of the site display and function correctly:
- web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so that Google receives the visitor's IP address as part of that technical request;
- the phone-number field used in our enquiry form loads the intl-tel-input library from the jsDelivr content delivery network, so that jsDelivr also receives the visitor's IP address as part of that request.
Neither of these third parties sets a cookie for us, and we do not use either service for analytics or advertising purposes.
5. WhatsApp buttons
The WhatsApp buttons on this site set nothing on this website and do not open a WhatsApp session until you click them. When you do tap a WhatsApp button, our own booking system records the click, including the page URL, the referring page, the browser language and the prefilled message text, so that our team can follow up on the enquiry; this record is stored by us in the same way as other enquiries, not as a cookie. Once WhatsApp opens, the conversation itself takes place on WhatsApp, operated by Meta, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy, which we do not control.
6. Managing storage and future changes
You can view, block or delete cookies and local or session storage at any time through your browser settings; the exact steps depend on the browser you use, but every modern browser offers a way to clear site data or browse in a private or incognito mode. Because this site does not set cookies of its own, clearing your browser storage will mainly remove the cookie-notice preference, the selected-yacht memory and the visit-measurement identifiers described above; it will not affect any booking or quote you have already sent us by email, phone or form.
If we ever decide to introduce optional cookies, for example for marketing purposes, we will update this page beforehand and ask for your consent first through a clear choice on the site, before any such cookie is placed. We process the data described in this policy under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and the guidelines on cookies issued by the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL). Questions about this policy, or about any personal data we hold, can be sent to [email protected], and you may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL at www.cnil.fr.
